Built by a boater, for boaters.
We exist to give our customers the best narrowboating experience possible — from first sketch to years of reliable cruising.
From mobile joinery to a full boatyard
Our director, Jamie Franklin, started out in 2020 as a sole trader offering mobile joinery services to boat owners along the canal network. After nearly two years working for another bespoke boat builder, Jamie set out on his own — and in January 2022, Kings Bromley Wharf Narrowboats Ltd was formally incorporated.
Since then we’ve grown into a full workshop and dry dock operation at Wharf Farm Barn Marina, delivering everything from a new pair of side doors to complete, ground-up bespoke builds.
Our three-step approach
Every project, big or small, follows the same principle: understand what you actually need before we pick up a tool.
Listen
We start by understanding how you’ll use the boat — liveaboard, holiday cruiser, shared ownership — and what matters most to you.
Design & Engineer
We turn that brief into a detailed specification, working with award-winning Tim Tyler shells and trusted marine equipment partners.
Deliver
Joinery, engineering, electrics and paintwork come together in our Lichfield workshop and dry dock, finished to a professional standard.
A dedicated workshop and dry dock
Some jobs we handle on-site at your mooring. For bigger work, we bring your boat to our Lichfield workshop, which includes dedicated space for joinery and marine engineering plus a dry dock for hull work and painting.
